More than the moment when their warmth
took over, easing my tension, the reading
under way; or the interplay - one finishing
the other’s introductions, the sharing out
of voices; more than the fragments of song:
what I recall most clearly is the way that one,
having got tired, signed the other’s name;
and how the other held that one’s hand
as they stepped out into unsettling snow.
